Our most common length of stay is Sunday to Saturday. You’ll arrive at Iliamna airport early Sunday evening and will be met by an Intricate Bay staff member. We’ll load your gear into our van and take a short drive to our Sea Planes. After the planes are loaded, we’ll skim across the lake and climb into the magnificent Alaskan air for our short flight to Intricate Bay Lodge. If you’ve never flown in a sea plane, this will be as exciting and memorable as any other moment of your stay with us.
When we pull up to the dock at IBL, you’ll be meet by our amazing guides. We’ll drop your gear in your rooms and acquaint you with some of our very basic rules – don’t feed the bears. Your first evening will be spent relaxing and getting to know your guides as well as our other guests. You’ll enjoy dinner, a few drinks and lots of laughs while taking in some of the most beautiful views anywhere in the world.
Our Guided Float trips typically start on Sunday. Your guides will take care of everything, including providing gourmet meals while on the river. Your float trip will finish Friday evening back at the lodge. A warm bed, hot shower, amazing meal and a soak in the hot tub out on the deck is a perfect way to wrap up an incredible week. We can also customize your trip to float two different rivers for 3 days each, or float one of our longer rivers for 6 days ($750 more per person). Saturday morning we’ll fly you to Iliamna to catch your connecting flight back to Anchorage.
Our Do It Yourself float trips follow the same basic schedule except you don’t have guides with you, and you’re doing all the set-up, tear-down and cooking along the river.
We can customize the start days for these trips as well as the length of your stay. Please don’t hesitate to call with any questions.

We welcome you to bring your own personal fishing gear. However, we do have quality rods, reels, flies, waders and boots available on site at no additional cost to you. All you really need to bring is a good rain jacket and clothes for the week.
Beverages
Guests are required to provide their own beer, wine and liquor as Iliamna is a “Dry” village. Ask us how we can assist you in purchasing and shipping your alcohol before you arrive.
Deposits and Payment Policy
A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to confirm and hold space. We will provisionally hold space for 14 days from the date of booking until deposits are received. Thereafter, we reserve the right to cancel bookings that are not confirmed by deposit. Deposits and other payments are not refundable after January 1st. Guests may transfer deposits or other payments to another person using the same space of the fishing week booked. A final payment of 50% is due 60 days prior to your arrival at our fishing lodge in Alaska. We highly recommend trip cancellation insurance.
All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable unless client replacements are found. There is no refund for any unused portion of the land package. Itineraries are based on current airline schedules that are subject to change and could result in an adjustment to final cost.
